Appetizers: Barbecued Meatballs

2 lbs. ground beef
1 large yellow onion, minced
1/2 c. seasoned breadcrumbs
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 qt. of your favorite barbecue sauce

Using the food processor, grind beef, onion, breadcrumbs and salt until a ball forms in the bowl.

Heat over broiler. Taking 1/2 tablespoon of meat in hand, forma round ball and place on a jellyroll pan. Repeat with remaining meatball mix until pan is full. Place under broiler, 6-7 inches away from heat source and broil for 5-7 minutes. Meanwhile, in a heavy – bottomed saucepan, heat barbecue sauce but do not boil. Add broiled meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 10-12 minutes. Yields 2-3 dosen, depending on size of meatballs.
